What is marble?
Marble (latin “marmor”, greek “marmaros” – shining stone) – a crystal rock, formed as a result of limestone or dolomite recrystallization. Marble has been used from ancient times as an architectural material because of its pliable and decorative qualities ( it's solid and it's fineness allows the stone to be finely processed and polished). The relative transparency of marble causes a superfine play of light and shade on the surface of marble sculptures and other objects.

Can marble be multicolor?
Yes. The color of marble depends on traces of other minerals it contains. Marble almost always has traces of other minerals as well as organic compounds, which create different color effects: red, green, yellow, white, black, etc. The pattern of the stone depends not only on the structure of marble, but also on the direction in which the stone is cut. Color and pattern are revealed during polishing of the stone.

How to tell marble from granite?
Marble and granite are totally different types of rocks. Marble is a metamorphosed sedimentary rock, while granite is abyssal. Granite has a volcanic nature and is shaped with granules of different colors and sizes. Marble has a limestone basis and, depending on the sort of stone, can be run through with quartz and other, often beautiful structure veins.

What is the difference between natural stone and artificial?
Natural stone is the result of multi-million-year natural processes, while artificial stone is a product of modern (not always ecologically sound) production technologies. Besides high aesthetic qualities (color depth, involution of the pattern, variety of shades, effect of light refraction in its crystal structure, etc.), which are impossible to reproduce in the artificial materials, the natural stone also has a number of other values: historical image, elite nature and the ability to get the articles in almost any shape (sphere, hyperboloid, “fabric folds”, etc.)

Does natural stone needs care?
Yes, but it depends on the place where the stone is used. There are special stone care products that help keep you natural stone clean, maintain it’s shine and texture and remove stains. Regular application of these products preserves the statues in their brand-new look.

How long do the marble and granite items last?
Forever. Natural stone is subject to neither time nor fashion.
